The most wonderful thing about spring and early summer is that first waft of a hot breezeless day when you open the blacked out curtains. Just looking across the meadows in the distance for me is enough to get the heart pumping. The prospect of a good walk peps me up no end and a sunny meadow seen from my gleaming bedroom windows is an excellent reason to thank heaven for good, well fitting frames with easy open catches and the flexibility to turn them sideways on for cleaning. That’s something I found very helpful when I was housebound for a while – being able to still do both sides of the window from one position. The dront and back doors were easy too. Window design these days offers so much choice – large lead panes, small diamond shapes, coloured inserts. the choice is fantastic. The new construction front doors leads to major improvements in that department too.
