I didn’t realise until recently that people still had aluminium window frames fitted – I assumed that the fad for these had disappeared completely in favour of the upvc ones. The plastic revolution seemed to take the world by storm in the 1970s and 1980s and as far as I had ever noticed, the aluminiums of old were never to return. Wrong! It is now fashionable to have strong and very stylish ones that offer slim sightlines and a range of finishes which give a contemporary look to anyone’s home. The new aluminium windows offer strength and duurability which enables them to withstand even the harshest weather whilst fulfilling the brief for modern looks. They are slightly more expensive than the current favourite upvc, but they last very much longer. It is the strength of the aluminium frame that allows for arger expanses of glass which in turn lets in more natural light which makes our homes brighter and feel more spacious.
